Fruits: Fruits are the powerhouses of vitamins, minerals. fiber and water. Fruits contain very fewer carbohydrates but lack of proteins and Fats. They are helpful in diseases like Diabetics, Obesity, Cardiovascular diseases, Renal problems, Liver problems etc.

We always have been heard about the benefits of Fruits since our childhood. Fruits are being relished by most of the people because of its appearance and delicious nature.

  • Fruits should not be eaten along with other Foods: Patients having obesity and Diabetes should not eat fruits along with other food to avoid the dollops of calories. But some believe that fruits hinder with digestion results in bloating, gas, heartburn. Well, there is no such scientific reason behind it as our stomach contains enough amount of Hydrochloric acid to kill the bacteria responsible for fermentation.

  • Before or After Meal: As fruits are full of moisture and fiber, it gives the satisfaction of fullness for the longest time, so it is not recommended have it just before the meal. On the contrary, it is good for weight loss patients. For the same reason that Fruits cause problems in digestion, many people do not recommend it to have it after the meal. The Fact is it increases the blood sugar level and spikes the number of calories needed by the body so it is not being recommended. One should have at least the gap of 30 minutes before or after the meal.

  • Before Bed:  As we all know, one should not eat anything before bed as it increases the blood sugar level and elevates the metabolism of the body which needs to be alow during bed for sound sleep. The same principle goes with Fruits as well as they contain Fructose, a simple sugar, which needs to be digested.

  • In the Morning on an empty stomach or between meals as snacks:  After waking up, we need to wake up the metabolism of our body which is at the resting stage at this time. To elevate the metabolism, fruits are the best choice to have. We can have it after few minutes of having a glass of water in early morning and can be a good choice for our Breakfast.  To maintain the blood sugar level, Fruits are also recommended to have in between meals as a snack as we do not need to cook it and it can be available easily.

  • Pre-Workout Or Post-Workout: Energy is being depleted during the course of the strenuous exercise, so fruits like Banana are the healthiest choice to have it before or after the workout.
